# Agents panel

Follow coding-provider quotas, resets and credits from Monarch's bar.

The Agents panel shows coding-provider quotas, reset times and credits collected by CodexBar CLI. It is separate from choosing or launching your default coding agent.

*Example: Synthetic quotas collected by CodexBar. Available figures and reporting windows vary by provider.*

## Open and refresh the panel

Click the agent icon in the bar to open the panel. Use the provider buttons to switch between available providers. Hover over the icon for a summary, or right-click it to refresh.

You can also open the panel from a terminal:

```bash
noctalia msg panel-open monarch/agents:details
```

## Manage providers

Click **Manage providers** in the panel, or run:

```bash
monarch agent usage manage
```

The searchable list comes from CodexBar. Enabling a provider does not change your default coding agent.

To list providers, check their status, or enable and disable monitoring:

```bash
monarch agent usage providers
monarch agent usage status
monarch agent usage status claude
monarch agent usage enable claude
monarch agent usage disable claude
```

Disabling monitoring does not uninstall the agent.

## Configure authentication

For Claude and Codex, start the corresponding CLI and sign in if needed. Then configure monitoring:

```bash
monarch agent usage setup claude
monarch agent usage setup codex
```

CodexBar reuses their existing authentication. The setup command does not start an interactive login itself.

For Synthetic, run:

```bash
monarch agent usage setup synthetic
```

Enter your API key in the masked terminal prompt. CodexBar stores the key; you no longer need to create Monarch's former `synthetic.json` file.

Other providers may offer an API-key or existing-authentication choice. Some also need endpoint, workspace or cookie settings configured in CodexBar.

## Understand the figures

The panel shows reported quota consumption, reset times and credits when available. Labels and reporting windows come from CodexBar and vary by provider. Authentication errors can prevent quota information from appearing.

Monarch no longer displays its former local usage charts. For supported local-history data, use CodexBar directly, for example:

```bash
codexbar cost --provider claude --format json
```

Local history depends on the source and is not a complete account billing statement.

For the desktop shell settings, see [Noctalia](/basics/noctalia.md).
